Empire Armchair
The Empire armchair uses the ornamental vocabulary of the Empire style. Often in mahogany, of massive shape, they give pride of place to sculpture. Empire style seats are usually mahogany, the most luxurious models can be lacquered or gilded wood.

‘CHAUFFEUSE’ CHAIR
It is a small high-back low chair padded and comfortable seat from the Regency period (1700-1730). Its place was near a fire, an oven or a boiler. The low seat put the occupant at the level of the fireplace and the high arched back sheltered it from drafts.

ROCKING CHAIR
Many adults find rocking chairs soothing because of the gentle motion. Gentle rocking motion has been shown to provide faster onset of sleep than remaining stationary. Interesting fact: studies today demonstrate that a rocking chair may actually do far more in terms of physical and mental health.
