HOW IT ALL STARTED

How many times did I stumble across a family piece of furniture and said to myself “I will never put that in my house”. That said this would act as a trigger and my mind would start wandering thinking of things I could do to it to make it special again.

Then, I guess that spending a few years collaborating with fabric and suit makers from Saville Row and exploring the men’s fashion world, this has finally convinced me to think of new opportunities. To quote Paul Smith: “You can find inspiration in everything and if you can’t, look again”. So true!

So, why not mixing the most beautiful fabrics and patterns – that one would use for suits for instance – and use them to reupholster a (family) chair?

This is where it all began.

And this is when the hard work started as a new world opened to me: from fussing to webbing, from padding to stitching, mastering puckers and pleats… and this was only a start.

In the end it is all about creating emotions as you preserve memories and transform a lifeless item into a vibrant one. Restyling Grandpa’s old chair with your favourite fabric and convert it into your favourite reading spot. So simple and yet so satisfying.
